    Wells County 4-H Achievement Days and Wells County FFA Competitions are held in conjunction with the Wells County Fair. Click here for a complete schedule of 4-H and FFA Events, including static exhibits, livestock judging and auctions.

    Rides, games and other activities will keep the midway exciting during the Wells County Fair. Advance carnival wristband tickets are on sale for $20 for a single day pass or $40 for a 4-day Mega Pass. The tickets can be redeemed at the carnival ticket booth for a wristband used to access all of the carnival rides. Daily wristbands will be sold at the carnival for $25, and Mega Passes will not be available for purchase after June 18.


    June 23 (Th) - June 25 (Su), 2017 Free Stage Entertainment at the Wells County Fair in Fessenden,ND.  Starting at noon each day, a variety of shows will be run every hour lasting until 9pm. 


    Full Schedule will be listed as it becomes available.


    Early shows include Cale Moon, Country Western Entertainer from Nashville.  He will be performing 3 shows each day.


    Island Time Steel Drums with Dave Herzog from Detroit Lakes, MN will be performing at 3pm and 7pm on Saturday. 




     F R I D A Y,    J U N E   23,   2 0 1 7     

    1:00pm— Cale Moon lives in his motorhome where ever he is performing, most recently in Oregon,       Washington,Texas,Nevada,&Nashville. Cale is a country boy whose voice is as deep & rich as 

          the songs that he has written. Cale’s goal is to glorify God & to touch the lives of others

          through his music.

    2:00pm—Edie Schell from Harvey will be singing Country & more.    

    3:00pm—9th Annual Wells County Free Stage Pet Show/Contest.   Bring your pet because it is the

          best behaved, the cutest, the most talented.  Prizes will be awarded.  ****Call Laurel Wentz at

          399-9741 to enter Pet Show****

    4:00pm—Vicki Lenz from Crystal, North Dakota will sing Contemporary Christian music.  She is

          married to Bruce Lenz, a FHS graduate.

    5:00pm—Cale Moon (see above for more information)    

    6:00pm—Skyler Patzer from Carrington will entertain us with his extremely talented gift on the

          piano. His piano originals and arrangements will amaze you. CDs available.

    7:00pm—Joshua Crowder from Bowdon will play violin accompanied by Pastor Pauline Crowder

         on the piano. Joshua will be a 8th Grader at Fessenden-Bowdon School this fall.

    7:30pm—“Spiritwood Homesteaders”, from Jamestown, Terry & Linda Schwartz are a family folk

         music group.  Terry is a songwriter and will do many of his original music interspersed with some

         Cowboy Poetry.  Formerly the Spiritwood Creek Band, they will have CDs available.

    10:00AM—Gospel Hour in the Festival Hall

    11:00am—“Solid Ground” with Melissa Brass, Harvey and Kathy & Brian Tebelius, Bowdon will provide a wonderful blend of Bluegrass and Gospel music.  Guitar, Mandolin, and Bass will be played skillfully.

    1:00pm—Debi Rogers from Mandan. Debi’s enthusiasm, creativity, and humor shine when she shares the love of her Scottish-Irish heritage. An apprenticed Gaelic harpist, Debi uses Celtic music, stories, and creative dramatics to teach her heritage.

    2:00pm—Tim Swang

    2:30pm—American Idol Performers from Harvey sing songs they performed for the contest in May.  will sing.

    4:30pm—Sommer Marie from Bismarck, will sing her favorite music.

    5:30pm—“Great Scott” Gospel Band from Bismarck, will play and sing Christian Gospel music.  The singer is Misty Scott originally from Kansas.  She and her husband

  • Thursday   BULL-A-RAMA

    Join us for one of the most exciting events of the Wells County Fair. See which riders can hold on for the full 8-second ride at Bull-A-Rama. Don’t miss the exciting rodeo action with the top ranking cowboys in the region and quality bulls from Shane Gunderson’s C’N Stars Bull Company. Show starts at 7:00 pm on Thursday at the Wells County Fairgrounds.

  • Saturday   5-K GRAND RUN

    The annual 5-K Grand Run will take place on Saturday, as part of the Wells County Fair. Registration for the 5-K walk/run will start at 7:30 am at the Gazebo. The cost is $15 per entry and each participant will receive a Grand Run T-shirt. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wells County Fair.  The 3.2 mile race will start at 8:00 am and follow a marked path through Fessenden. There will be plenty of bottled water on hand, and participants are encouraged to stretch before the event and to stay hydrated.


    One of the most anticipated summer sports on the prairies, Chariot & Chuckwagon racing is a fast-paced spectator sport for the whole family.  Watch as the horses and dare-devil drivers race to win on the track at the Wells County Fair in the grandstand at 1:30 pm on Saturday.

  • Saturday   TREASURE HUNT

    Treasure Hunt at the Wells County Fair on Saturday at 1:00 pm.  Sponsored by Wells County 4-H.  Open to kids 11 and under.  Hunt for coins in the sand at the sandbox by the 4-H Food Booth.

  • Saturday   PARADE

    Bring the kid’s out to see tractors, cars, music, entertainment and more at the Wells County Fair Parade on Saturday! Entrants line up at the courthouse starting at 10:00 am and the parade begins down Main Avenue in Fessenden at 11:00 am.


  •  Saturday  RHUBARB FEST

    $3 gets you six samples at Rhubarb Fest in the Festival Hall at the Wells County Fair. Come on in and check out all of the delicious recipes and see the amazing exhibits and vendors provided by the talented women of Wells County. The Apron Awards will be given to the People’s Choice, the Judge’s Choice and the Volunteer’s Choice this year.   • Sunday   DEMO DERBY

    Who could have imagined that such a simple concept would lead to such fun? Put a bunch of cars into an arena and let them smash, bang and crash into each other. A long-time favorite, the demolition derby is spectacular, metal-crunching entertainment for the entire family. This year combines will be part of the event. Join us on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 in the Grandstand.
